Since its founding in 1927, The CessnaŽ Aircraft Company has delivered more than 178,000 aircraft, including 24,000 twin-engine airplanes, 2,000 military jets and more than 2,200 Citations, the largest fleet of business jet aircraft in the world. More than half of the aircraft currently flying are Cessnas. In October 1990, Cessna introduced the Citation X, the world's fastest business jet (it was first delivered in 1996).
